Are you ready?

The first Sunday Night Youth Group of the Year is this Sunday at 7 pm. All high school youth are invited to join us. The youth room will be open beginning at 6 pm for teens to hang out if they choose. Youth Group ends at 9 pm.

Family Night at Youth Group is on Sunday, October 2. All families are invited to join us in the PAC for a potluck dinner beginning at 6:30 pm. More details will be coming soon!

Welcome Back!

Schools are busy with either the first few days of class or getting ready for class to begin on Tuesday. Things here are quite busy too!

Check out the calendar page and our special events page for details on all our start of the year activities.

Sunday Night Youth Group resumes on September 11. The youth group meets from 7-9 pm. The youth room is open from the end of the 5 pm Mass (sometimes earlier) in case teens wish to hang out for a while before youth group.

We also have a variety of new activities this year so check those out.

Parents - don't miss Family Night. October 2 we will have a special family night at youth group. We will meet at 6:30 pm in the PAC where we will have a potluck dinner. You can find out all the details for the many activities within the youth ministry. There will also be time to socialize and enjoy some great food and even better company.

Ice Cream Sundae Party

Join us on July 13 at 7 pm in the youth room for an ice cream sundae party. We will have ice cream with all the toppings to help you cool down in the summer heat.

We'll also have games, movies, and more to help keep you entertained in case you're already bored by the lack of homework!

It's that Time...

Here we are at the end of another school year...

That means it is time to say good bye to our seniors and celebrate another great year. This Sunday we have a special Sunday Youth Night from 6 pm - 9 pm. We will have dinner, celebrate our seniors, and enjoy a relaxing night in the midst of the chaos of the end of the year.

In addition, this Sunday is the deadline for the Cedar Point tickets. As I will be sending in the count for tickets immediately after youth group, no late tickets can be ordered. Make sure you get your permission slip, health form and fee turned in before 9 pm on Sunday to me.

Cedar Point Day Trip

Summer is coming...hopefully...

With summer comes the trip to Cedar Point. While permission slips, health forms, and the fee are due by June 12, the sooner you get your information in the better! There are limited spots on each bus and we want to make sure we get enough space for everyone.

We've lucked out! Jesse Manibussan is coming to our parish!

On Wednesday, May 18 from 7:00-8:30 pm Jesse will be presenting in our church. Those of you who have attended NCYC or WYD know how great this evening will be. Come join us!

Living Way of the Cross & Babysitting

Retreat & Service Trip Registrations are Open!

The registration information for both the March retreat and the summer service trip is now posted to the website.

The deadline to register for the March retreat is February 24. Make sure to get your permission slip, health form, and fee in by that date. If you have any major dietary restrictions, we need to know that by February 20.

The application packet for the summer service trip with Franciscans for the Poor is posted. To apply, make sure to complete all the requirements and return to the High School Youth Ministry Office by February 27. Places are limited and early registrations will receive a weighted attention.

No, this isn't the latest in the odd mash-up books out there, rather it is a reminder about this weekend's events.

Ladies - you can still come to the lock-in: Jane Austen's Guide to Dating and Friendship. You can bring the forms to Mary Magdalen when things start at 7 pm. See the Special Events page for details.

Everyone - we have room for more to come on the Haunted Hayride on Sunday. However, we do need additional drivers (parents!) if more kids come. So, bring all your forms and make sure a parent could help drive to &/or from the Hayride. Details are on the Special Events Page.

Today is the deadline for the Haunted Hayride trip. Also, tomorrow is the deadline for the Girls' Night Lock-In.

As an additional reminder, the deadline for the winter service trip is October 31. However, we only have 12 spots so get your application in ASAP for consideration.

Permission slips are due this Sunday, September 19. Don't forget that everyone has to have a health form on file and if you wish to try the adventure challenges there is an additional form for that.

Youth group each week.
The haunted hayride and bonfire at Wiards.
Deadline to register for the Jamboree (see the Special Events page for details).
The Girls' Night Lock-In: Jane Austen's Guide to Friendship and Dating.

Make sure you don't miss any of the deadlines to register for the special events.

Also, those of you going to WYD 2011 in Madrid, there is a meeting on October 27 that is mandatory for participants and parents/guardians.

Retreat Registration Deadline

This Sunday, September 19 is the deadline to sign up for the retreat. You need to turn in the permission form, health form, and fee to be fully registered for the retreat. If you wish to participate in the adventure ropes course, there is an additional fee and form. Since the facility needs a count for food and the ropes course, late registrations cannot be accepted. Please plan on getting them in to the youth ministry office by 9 pm on Sunday night.

Picnic Tonight

The weather has turned out to be perfect for a picnic - crisp, fall-like weather.

Join us at Gallup Park for a casual potluck picnic. We will be at the Maas Shelter. There is a nearby play structure for the little kids, lots of ducks to watch, a nearby area for volleyball, and great walking trails you can also enjoy. Please bring a dish to pass. We will supply the paper products and beverages. See you there at 6:30 pm!

There are updates to the Special Events page -

The fall retreat has a new permission slip with all the detailed information we need from each participant. Don't forget that you will need to turn in the permission slip, health form and fee to officially be registered. If you wish to participate in the ropes courses that are offered, an additional fee and form are required. You are not signed up for a ropes course experience until that additional form and fee are on file.
The Girls' Night Lock-In is officially a go. We've got details on the Special Events page.

World Youth Day 2011

Any youth who will be 16 by the end of 2011 and is willing to be an active participant in the youth ministry is welcome to attend the World Youth Day pilgrimage to Spain next August. Registration will be closing soon, so contact me immediately if you are interested.

NOLA - New Orleans, LA.

Check out the Special Events page because details were just posted for a special winter break trip. We will head to NOLA on December 26 to help with the ongoing efforts to rebuild following Katrina.

Did you think that things are all set after that horrible hurricane? I hate to say it, but there is still much work to be done. CNN even has an upcoming special on the hurricane recovery.

The deadline to register isn't until October 31, but we wanted to get the information out there so you can make plans and see if it works out with your holiday festivities.

Fall Retreat & Jamboree!

Hello all!

We've got the information on the fall retreat posted to the Special Events page. Check it out! Also, note that if you want to try the High Ropes Course you need to fill out an additional form and pay an additional $24.00. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The preliminary information on the Diocesan Jamboree is also posted. You can see the permission slip there.

Note that it is a new year and I need to have new permission slips on file for everyone. A few of you who participated in the summer events are all set, but I will need new forms from everyone else. Also, if at any time medical information changes, an updated form should be turned in to the youth ministry office.

We had some massive technical difficulties recently thereby losing the old website. Now I will be rebuilding the website. All the old features will be available. Hopefully a few new ones too. I also hope that it is a bit more functional, too.
